CHURCH-WIDE CAMPAIGN INVOLVEMENT Your church is the core of 40 Days of Purpose.
Your weekend services introduce the biblical principles of the
campaign, serving as the foundation that group and individual study are
built on. The timing and personality of your campaign events,
communications, and outreach efforts ignite the truth that God uses to
transformed lives. Your first and most important step is to cast a
shared vision for your leadership and campaign team. The support and
participation of your staff, leadership, and ministries determines the
impact of 40 Days of Purpose on your church. Our goal is to
help you effectively prepare and launch a 40 day journey that fits the
unique personality and needs of your church. SEVEN WEEKEND SERVICE PLANS 40 Days of Purpose includes seven worship service plans, plus optional pre- and post-messages timed to maximize and maintain momentum. Each weekly message was prepared and presented by Rick Warren at Saddleback during our own 40-day journey. You’ll receive Rick’s research notes, sermon outline, handouts, and the PowerPoint presentations in support of each message. Complete message transcripts and video archives of Saddleback’s 40 Days of Purpose services offer insight on how we designed each service to challenge our church.
We’ll also share suggested songs and unique ideas for drama, art, and group involvement that compliment each weekly message. 40-Days has a track record of uniting congregations and bringing healing to families. Involving all age groups creates a cross-generational pathway for the power of God’s purposes. Weekly messages appropriate for primary and high school pastors are also included on your Resource CD. BUILDING YOUR TEAM With the all the events and planning that go into the 40 Days of Purpose you'll be relieved to know that we don't expect the senior pastor or even the senior leadership to shoulder the entire burden. Instead, we'll coach you how to select leaders from your own congregation and form them into a team capable of developing and managing your campaign. We'll provide you with materials to give to each team member that will walk them step by step through the process. It will be tempting to try to pull off the campaign on your own or rely entirely on your core leadership. However, you'd be missing out on a perfect opportunity to discover and develop new leaders in your church and empower members to become ministers.
Campaign Leader: The Senior Pastor is actively involved in the leadership and vision-casting for the Campaign. The strategic point of leadership for this Campaign cannot be delegated.
Campaign Director: Along with the pastor, the Campaign Director will provide overall leadership to the Campaign. This person will manage, support and provide leadership to each of the team coordinators. He or she will also oversee and implement the action plan, work closely with the pastor, and help recruit the rest of the Campaign Team.
Prayer Coordinator: It is the Prayer Coordinator’s job to implement prayer as a focus for the Campaign Team, recruit a church-wide Prayer Team, and develop and implement a prayer strategy throughout all of your church’s ministries and age groups.
Communications Coordinator: Your Communications Coordinator will identify all communication points and avenues in your church, choose and produce the needed promotional materials, and oversee the implementation of all communications strategies, which could be as broad as videos, bulletin inserts, response cards, e-mail, and promotional postcards.
Weekend Services Coordinator: The person works with the pastor and those who plan the worship services in your church to plan special features for the Campaign during your weekend services. This person would look for creative ways to help drive home the theme of each week’s service through testimonies, drama, video, Scripture readings, special music, banners, or numerous other means.
Small Group Coordinator: One of the most critical thrusts of the Campaign is to promote group life and assimilate people into small groups. Your Small Group Coordinator will recruit a team to help develop and implement the strategy for launching new small groups that best suits your church. This team also has the responsibility for recruiting and training small group leaders with the HOST home strategy. Special Events Coordinator: Each spiritual growth Campaign has one or more catalytic events that are designed to inspire the congregation to live out the principles of the Campaign. These events will each require a coordinator who recruits the event team, develops the plan for the event, and oversees the implementation of the elements of the event. |
